چکیده

The fatigue assessment of mooring lines for floating offshore wind turbines represents a challenging issue not only the reliable design stationkeeping system but also economic impact on installation and maintenance costs over entire lifetime farm. After brief review about state-of-art, nonlinear time-domain hydrodynamic model moored by chain cables is discussed. Subsequently, damage in outlined, focusing combined-spectrum approach. relevant parameters, due to low- wave-frequency components stress process, are estimated two different methods. former based analysis filtered process time history. latter, instead, spectral advanced methods, namely Welch Thomson ones. benchmark study performed, assuming as reference turbine OC4-DeepCWind semisubmersible platform, equipped with 5 MW NREL turbine. cumulative determined eight load conditions, including both power production parked situations. A comparative between methods performed. Current results clearly show that endorsement can be helpful improve reliability life lines.

Unsteady aerodynamic analysis for offshore floating wind turbines under different wind conditions.

A free-vortex wake (FVW) model is developed in this paper to analyse the unsteady aerodynamic performance of offshore floating wind turbines. A time-marching algorithm of third-order accuracy is applied in the FVW model. Owing to the complex floating platform motions, the blade inflow conditions and the positions of initial points of vortex filaments, which are different from the fixed wind tur...

SHM of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines— Challenges and First Solutions

The paper presents an integrated SHM-system for floater, moorings, tower, nacelle and rotor blades. Its core is based on a multivariate SHM-system for rotor blades with three different measuring techniques accompanied by appropriate signal processing approaches:  Acoustic Emission (AE) is used for identification of relative small damages at the whole blade, e.g. bursts of fibres, cracks of bon...

On the Modeling of Spar-type Floating Offshore Wind Turbines

In this paper an overview about floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) including operating conditions, property and applicability of the barge, tension-leg, and spar floating platforms is described. The spar-floating offshore wind turbines (S-FOWT) have advantages in deepwater and their preliminary design, numerical modeling tools and integrated modeling are reviewed. Important conclusions abou...

Floating Offshore Wind Turbines: Responses in a Seastate Pareto Optimal Designs and Economic Assessment

Wind is the fastest growing renewable energy source, increasing at an annual rate of 25% with a worldwide installed capacity of 74 GW in 2007. The vast majority of wind power is generated from onshore wind farms. Their growth is however limited by the lack of inexpensive land near major population centers and the visual pollution caused by large wind turbines. Wind energy generated from offshor...

Performance analysis of individual blade pitch control of offshore wind turbines on two floating platforms

Individual blade pitch state space (IBP SS) control and disturbance accommodating control (DAC) that reject wind speed perturbations are applied on a 5 MW wind turbine mounted on the barge and tension leg floating platforms for performance comparison in above rated wind speed region. The DAC used in this study is simply an IBP SS controller with a wind speed disturbance rejection component. For...
